A warrant has been put out for the arrest of a Blackburn woman after she was found guilty of beating someone up at a Morrisons supermarket.
Magistrates issued a warrant for arrest without bail of Daria Georgeta after finding her guilty of assault by beating on Thursday, October 13.
Georgeta, 25, of Pine Street, Blackburn, denied assaulting a woman at the Morrisons supermarket in Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, on November 5, 2021, but was found guilty in her absence at a hearing at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court.
A second charge of assaulting a man on the same occasion was dismissed with no evidence offered by the Crown Prosecution Service.
As she failed to answer her bail by appearing at court for her trial, which had already had to be rearranged from April as a Romanian translator was required, magistrates issued a warrant for her arrest, without bail.
Once in custody, she will appear before the court to be sentenced.
