A fire broke out at a nursery school on Fulwood Row in Preston.
Firefighters remain at the scene of the fire which broke out at the Highfield Priory School on Fulwood Row last night (October 15).
The blaze was reported at around 6:50pm and firefighters have been working throughout the night to make the scene safe.
Six fire engines and an aerial ladder platform from Preston, Blackpool, Blackburn, Longridge and Bamber Bridge were sent.
Firefighters used four jets, two hose reels, the aerial ladder platform, two breathing apparatus and bolt croppers to extinguish the fire.
At around 1am this morning, the number of fire engines reduced to four and the fire had been put out.
By 5:45am only two fire engines remained at the scene as the crews worked to identify the hotspots and remain dampening down.
There are no reported injuries.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “The incident has now been reduced to two fire engines and one aerial ladder platform.
"Firefighters continue to identify and extinguish hot spots.
“Crews remain in attendance dampening down.”
