Police are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage after a man in his 60s was hit by a car in Leyland.
The incident happened at around 9.30pm yesterday (Sunday, October 9) at the junction of Hough Lane and Dorothy Avenue.
The pedestrian, who was crossing the road when the Toyota Yaris hit him, suffered serious chest and head injuries. The driver of the Toyota was uninjured, and remained at the scene.
The man, in his 60s, was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Two fire engines from Bamber Bridge and Chorley were called to a road traffic collision on Dorothy Avenue, Leyland.
“Firefighters assisted paramedics with administering first aid to one casualty who was then conveyed to hospital by ambulance.
“Firefighters were in attendance for approximately 45 minutes.”
Police are appealing for information and urging any witnesses to come forward.
