A village will benefit from an extra 22 hours a week of post office services with a move to a new site on the other side of the road.
The Post Office in Rising Bridge will move be to Sherfin Corn Mill and will be open seven days a week.
The move from 602 Blackburn Road, Rising Bridge, Accrington, BB5 2SB, is with the agreement of the current long-serving postmaster.
It will operate as a Post Local branch with a Post Office counter alongside the retail counter.
The opening hours will be Monday to Friday from 8am until 6pm and from 8am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
This will be an extra 22 hours of Post Office service a week for the convenience of customers including all day Sunday and Wednesday and Saturday afternoons as well as earlier opening and later closing times.
A spokesperson for the Post Office said: “We are confident that introducing a local style branch alongside a successful retail store is the most effective way to safeguard sustainable Post Office services in the local community.
“During consultation concerns were raised about traffic and parking, which are problems faced generally in many locations nationwide and these are matters outside of our control.
“We have carried out a further review of these matters. Roadside parking is available nearby and there will be four dedicated parking spaces on site, one of which will be a disabled bay.”
