A YOUNG dancing duo from Pendle have melted the heart of TV's Mr Nasty - and won through to the next round of the Britain's Got Talent Show.
Eight-year-olds Charlie Dixon and Krista Hyatt, alias the Cheeky Monkeys, wowed the audience at the Hackney Empire with a spirited routine packed with flips, tumbles, splits and pizazz.
But the starlets, who attend Laneshawbridge Primary and Park Primary respectively, faced an anxious wait when the judges were split down the middle about whether they should advance.
Moments after they had taken their bow Simon Cowell told them their performance was "terrific" with "great energy and great costumes" but he had reservations about the overall choreography.
Fellow judge Piers Morgan voted to reject them but TV star Amanda Holden said yes.
So the casting vote for the Cheeky Monkeys rested with TV's Mr Nasty. But with the audience willing him on he showed his softer side. Simon said: "I am going to give you one more chance - I am going to say yes."
Charlie's mum Caroline, 34, of Shelfield Lane, Nelson, said: "They were both a little nervous but everybody told them to pretend it was a dance competition."
The winning act will line up in front of Prince Charles for the Royal Variety Show at the London Palladium later this year.
