A FATHER was stabbed in the stomach at a house in Burnley, police have said.
Officers arrested the 38-year-old's partner after the stabbing at the house in Padgate Close and were due to interview her last night.
Doctors operated and removed a three-inch knife from his abdomen after he was taken to the Royal Blackburn Hospital by ambulance following the attack at 5.30am on Thursday.
The man was initally feared to be badly injured but police said he was in a stable condition.
Detective Inspector Sion Hall, of Burnley CID, said: "They operated on him and it looks like it's not as bad as we initially thought.
"His partner has been arrested and we are still investigating the circumstances so we do not know what happened.
"The stabbing took place in the house but he does not live there.
"We do not know why he was there at that time in the morning."
