An investigation has been launched following a commercial property fire in Higher Walton.
Eight fire engines and an Aerial Ladder Platform were sent to the commercial building on Blackburn Road in Higher Walton at around 12pm today (Wednesday, September 21).
The photo shows smoke rising from the roof which has been burned and damaged.
Firefighters are expected to be at the property for several hours to ensure the area is safe.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: “Eight fire engines and an Aerial Ladder Platform from Preston, Penwortham, Bamber Bridge, Leyland, Chorley, Darwen and Blackburn attended a fire involving a commercial building on Blackburn Road in Higher Walton.
“Whilst the fire is now under control, gas cylinders are present in the building so firefighters will be in attendance for several hours to make the scene safe. There will be some disruption to the surrounding area.
“No injuries have been reported and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.”
An update states that the Aerial Ladder Platform from Preston fire station is still in attendance, while drones are being used to assess the area. .
A spokesperson said: "No fire safety issues or injuries have been identified and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
"Crews are likely to remain in attendance for the majority of the day damping down.
"The number of appliances has been reduced to one Aerial Ladder Platform and three fire engines."
