FIREFIGHTERS were called to a disused building in Thursby Street, Burnley, after arsonists broke in and set fire to an old mattress and settee.
A crew from Burnley was called to the scene by a passing police unit who noticed smoke coming from the first floor shortly after 7pm on Tuesday.
Firefighters spent 45 minutes putting out the fire, which badly damaged one upstairs room, and smoke damaged the rest of the building.
