Twelve drivers will be hearing from the police after they were caught speeding on sections of an East Lancashire road yesterday.
The police caught 12 drivers travelling at more than 35mph on a road with a speed limit of 30mph, yesterday (September 20).
An officer teamed up with Community Roadwatch Volunteers on Whalley Road, Billington, to conduct speed checks on two areas of the road after residents have raised concerns.
The police officer warned that the drivers spotted breaking the speed limit will be ‘hearing from us in due course.
Officer Pemberton of Ribble Valley Police said: “Good Evening. Tonight I teamed up with our community roadwatch volunteers to conduct speed checks on two areas of Whalley Road at Billington.
“This road has been raised as a concern for speeding by local residents. 12 vehicles were travelling over 35mph, these drivers will be hearing from us in due course."
