PROMOTERS at Bury Met are set to host a borough band's largest hometown gig to date.
Urban Theory will headline the return of the Met's Emerging Showcase, on Saturday, October 1, with support from singer-songwriter Adam Hopper.
And after selling out a March outing in their intimate off-shoot, The Box, venue bosses are putting on the indie-punk outfit in the Derby Hall.
A Met spokesman said: "Urban Theory are a hard hitting, four-piece, indie-punk guitar band. Their music takes on a wide and varied range of influences and captures a raw, gritty live energy, that roams in and out of punk, new wave, and indie guitar rock with powerful vocals and catchy riffs.
"Songs with big choruses, youthful energy and dark secrets are likely to win more fans who want an adrenaline headrush with volume set to the max."
Fronted by Alexander Quinn, with Jake Heath on lead guitar, Josh Rowlands on bass and drummer Ellis Willoughby, the band has been around since 2016.
The band performed a barnstorming set at Head for the Hills, in Burrs Park, last September, as well as making a Glaston-Bury festival bow on the Broad Street stage, and will follow their Met gig with a support slot alongside Cold Water Swimmers in Manchester on October 14.
Band members will also be doing a DJ set at Wax and Beans record shop after their Met date.
