A 12-YEAR-OLD Darwen girl picked up top prizes at a speech, music and drama festival.
Natalie Buxton, from Darwen, who took part in a Bible recitation competition in February, won two categories in the Buxton Speech, Music and Drama Festival earlier this month.
In February she was one of 14 youngsters in the junior section of annual national competition to win the Cranmer Award which is run by the Prayer Book Society to intro-duce young people to the Book of Common Prayer.
Although the Westholme school pupil did not win that award she went along to the competition in Buxton, Derbyshire, which had 12 categories.
Natalie took the top prize in the poem reading category and the Bible reading one.
She also came second in an acting category where she performed part of Shakespeare's play As You Like It and third when she read part of the story Anne of Green Gables.
