ROSSENDALE residents are being reminded to use their vote in this year's local election.

The poll taken place on Thursday with people being able to vote between 7am and 10pm.

Rossendale Council have been running an advertising campaign to encourage people to vote.

A poster has been placed on the side of one of the council's trade refuse vehicles, saying: Use your vote, don't waste it'.

Joanne Smith, the council's elections manager, said: "The vehicle covers the town centre, so lots of people should see the poster.

"Voting in local elections allows people to have a say about who represents them in the Council."
