A SECONDARY school is offering nearby residents free gym sessions.
Accrington Academy is inviting local people to try out their cutting-edge facilities as part of a mission to help Hyndburn residents lead healthier, more active lives.
They are invited to sign up for free taster sessions including one-to-ones with a personal trainer to set weight/body mass index and lifestyle goals and get started with a free healthy weight programme.
Since partnering with Hyndburn Leisure earlier this year, Accrington Academy has opened its health and leisure facilities up to the community.
Clubs, businesses and individuals can hire the six-lane swimming pool, gym, sports hall, pitches, courts and the school’s well-appointed theatre and classrooms spaces.
Lyndsey Sims, chief executive of Hyndburn Leisure said: “Health goals are so personal. We want local people to be able to have a conversation with a specialist and work out what’s important to them, whether that’s exercising for mental health, maintaining a healthy weight or just feeling good in themselves.
"Accrington Academy is a real hive of activity, with lots of locals and clubs taking advantage of our competitive pricing.
“But we want even more people to book their free taster session and take advantage of the fantastic health and leisure facilities on their doorstep.”
