A pub in Lancashire is giving away free pints to anyone who can help them with their environmental mission.
The Dressers Arms, in Briers Brow, Wheelton, said anyone who goes litter picking and brings them a bag of rubbish can enjoy a pint on them.
Included in the campaign is a choice of any ale, Fosters or Amstel, a small glass of house wine, house spirit or any soft drink.
The owners decided to launch this campaign after noticing an increase in litter around the local area.
They decided to launch a new campaign aimed at preserving the beauty of the surrounding areas.
To take part, people can simply pick up a litter bag from the pub, fill it with litter dumped in the local area, return it and enjoy a pint as a thank you.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, the pub's owners said: We are grateful to be surrounded by beautiful landscapes and nature and are passionate about keeping it that way.
“The increase in litter in the surrounding fields and on the main road is becoming a problem so we wanted to start a campaign to help solve this.
“Hopefully this will be a step in the right direction and encourage people take part.”
Since making the announcement, dozens have praised the pub for their generosity.
Andrew White said: “Love this plan.
“Looking forward to joining in.”
Stacey Harwood said: “Great idea - so sad seeing so much litter on our dog walk.”
Gary Ticker added: “Great idea but the ‘tourists’ to our fantastic villages really need to respect our areas and take their litter and dog poo with them.”
