A PUNK priest is issuing a rallying call to patriots on St George's Day- with an EP tackling the question of Englishness.
Rocking Reverend Philip Chew, formerly of St Stephen's in Burnley but now the vicar of St Aidan's and St Philip's in Blackburn, and his band Revisit, are issuing their latest effort, Killing England, today.
The Rev Chew said: "People feel that they cannot be patriotic any more and this EP is just making a few statements about that.
"It is a title that does not sit well with most people but then again there are a lot of things going on in England that do not sit well with most people. Punk says it as it is."
The minister is joined in Revist by Graham Chapelhow, an engineer, on guitar, optician Mark Hurlbut on bass, and John Juice' Mayo, a psychiatric nurse, on drums.
The band premiered the new EP at Frankies in Darwen and will play Snuffys in Great Harwood tonight. Another date is the Mill Hill Hotel, on Saturday.
