A PIONEERING exercise class for overweight people is set for its TV debut.
Biggerfun, set up in February by Burnley woman Susan Beaumont, will feature in the documentary Plus Sized and Proud, to air on the Sky Real Lives channel in June.
Susan, 34, who struggles with her own weight, began dance classes in Blackburn, but her business expanded to Burnley, and she will soon be starting a Ribble Valley group.
She started the business after feeling intimidated by "super-fit" exercise class members, and finding there were no fitness facilities just for overweight people.
Biggerfun has been boosted by backing from Primary Care Trusts in Blackburn and Burnley - many of her 50 members were referred through community health workers.
The mum-of-three was contacted by production com-pany ZKK after executives heard her inspirational story.
Cameras followed her dance classes last month, as well as a trip to Blackburn Ice Arena, which encouraged Susan and her classes to branch out into more extreme sports.
Susan said: "They interviewed some of the members about why they chose my classes over ordinary ones, and the ice skating trip was fantastic.
"I said when I started that I wanted bigger people to be able to do all sorts of exercise."
The show's producer Simon Morris said the group would feature alongside other stories of women celebrating their size.
He said: "Susan's Biggerfun group caught our eye as it's an inspiring story of a lady sick of dance groups which made her feel the odd one out."
Biggerfun dance sessions are held every Tuesday evening and Saturday morning at Revidge Fold United Reformed Church, Blackburn, and every Thursday evening at Howard Street Community Health Centre, Burnley.
