The Queen died on Thursday (September 8) triggering a 10-day period of national mourning.
In order to pay respect to the Queen some Lancashire businesses have closed and events have been postponed today (September 9) and in the coming days.
There is no obligation on organisations to suspend business during the national mourning period.
Depending on the nature and location of their business and the tone of planned events, some businesses may wish to consider closing or postponing events, especially on the day of the State Funeral, however this is at the discretion of individual businesses.
Here full list of cancellations, closures and postponements across Lancashire:
- Burnley Football Club, Blackburn Rovers and Accrington Stanley

This retro festival was meant to be taking place this weekend. It has now been cancelled.
A spokesperson said: “In respect to this sad news we will not be pursuing the Festival and are advising any venues from within the programme to make their own decisions as to whether to proceed or not.
“We feel it inappropriate to celebrate a great decade whilst the rest of the world is in mourning.
“As coorganiser of the 60’s Festival I support the statement posted above but explain that we felt that it wouldn’t be fair to the many venues involved in this year’s festival to cancel the Festival completely but to ‘step back’, show respect the passing of the Queen and allow each venue to make a decision based on what they and their customers would wish to do. We will continue to promote those venues who wish to continue.”

- Southport Pleasureland
While not in Lancashire many locals may have been planning to visit the marine drive amusement park in the coming weeks.
