A body was recovered over the weekend by police and a mountain rescue team.
The discovery was made on Saturday (September 3) near Barley, overlooking Pendle Hill where Rossendale and Pendle Mountain Rescue personnel were joined by officers from Lancashire Constabulary.
Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue Team posted: “On Saturday the team was contacted by Lancashire Police to assist with an ongoing incident near Barley.
“Unfortunately, due to the nature of the incident, we are unable to share more details.”
Lancashire Police said a body had been recovered but the death was ‘non-suspicious’ and could not provide any further details.
