THE police watchdog is continuing to probe a phone call made by Mr Shafiq to police shortly before he was murdered.
Lancashire Constabulary said the call and their response had caused them "some concern" and it has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
The female call centre operator who took the call has not been suspended.
The IPCC said that exact details of the conversation could not be revealed because of the investigation.
Mr Shafiq had called the police's non-emergency number which was brought in to avoid the clogging up the 999 lines with non-emergency calls.
