After weeks of fine weather, soaring temperatures and heatwaves it seems like summer may be well and truly over.
The Met Office has predicted thunderstorms will roll in across parts of East Lancashire and other areas of the UK later this week.
They have issued a yelloq weather warning for some parts of the UK today (September 5) and Tuesday. but while the warning doesn't cover Lancashire the county is still set to be hit by heavy rain and storms.
The week is set to start off cloudy but dry before thunderstorms hit later in the week.

When will thunderstorms hit East Lancashire
According to the Met Office at the time of writing (5 September), Blackburn with Darwen is the only East Lancashire area set to get thunderstorms in East Lancashire.
They are currently expected to hit on Wednesday afternoon at around 1pm.

Thursday September 8: Overcast changing to light showers by late morning. Highs of 19°C and lows of 12°C.
Friday September 9: Cloudy changing to light showers by late morning. Highs of 18°C and lows of 11°C.
Saturday September 10: Sunny changing to cloudy. Highs of 19°C and lows of 12°C.
Sunday September 11: Cloudy. Highs of 19°C and lows of 14°C.
