POLICE who spotted a car making several high speed overtaking manoeuvres could not catch up with the vehicle for three miles.
Blackburn magistrates heard when they did stop the vehicle the officers could smell cannabis and the driver ultimately tested positive for that drug and the derivative of cocaine.
Steven Entwistle, 33, of Parkinson Street, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to driving while over the limit for cannabis and benzoylecgonine. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with a six months Drug Rehabilitation Activity requirement and 10 days Rehabilitation Activity Requirement. He was fined £100 with £85 costs and £95 victim surcharge and banned from driving for three years.
Rafih Khan, prosecuting, said police spotted the BMW being driven by Lord travelling at speed and carrying out several overtakes.
