An East Lancashire lighting manufacturer has appointed its new managing director, in an “exciting” next step for the business.
Hapton-based Steon Ltd has appointed Guy Ramsbottom as the new managing director, and began his role on September 1.
He has taken over from Nigel Walton who served in the role for 31 years, who is taking a step back from the role but remaining with the firm in product design and development.
Mr Ramsbottom has been with Steon – based at Bridgewater Court in Network 65 Business Park – for more than a decade, playing a key role in its development over recent years.
He has been involved in all aspects of the business, most recently serving as operations manager, and in his new role he said he hopes to build on his predecessor’s legacy and lead the way in the lighting industry.
Mr Ramsbottom said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my years at Steon Ltd and I have been privileged to work with and get to know the fantastic and talented team we have here.
“In my new role as managing director, I look forward to exploring the opportunities that the innovative and dynamic lighting industry has to offer.”
A spokesperson for Steon Ltd added: “This is an exciting time for Steon.
“We look forward to working under Guy’s leadership and wish him every success in his new role.”
