A couple who own their own business, and are currently expecting their first child, have offered to help a 4D ultrasound centre after it was rated ‘requires improvement’.
Insta-Scan, based in Burnley Road, Padiham, was rated as ‘requires improvement’ in their latest CQC report, for a number of reasons, including not always complying with data protection.
However, the directors of Padiham-based business Bowland IT, who are expecting their baby in within the next few weeks, decided to offer their help after they heard the disappointing news.
Oliver Alcock and Jenna Healey of Clitheroe visited the clinic to have a 4D scan and said Padiham’s Instascan 4D Baby owners, Richard Warriner and Vicky Deaville, offered them the best scanning experience throughout their entire pregnancy so far.
Oliver said: “It was a shock to see that the CQC would mark them down so severely due to paperwork issues.
“I reached out to Richard and Vicky following the news regarding the poor score, to see if we could help from an IT point of view.
“It was clear not only from the visit, but from the communication regarding this news article that the couple have put their heart and soul into this small company and have visions to grow it to multiple sites.
“I explained to them not to let this score knock them back, and I offered to help support them with their IT and GDPR paperwork.”
Instascan 4D Baby is run by Richard, who is an NHS registered sonographer with 25 years of experience, and his wife Vicky.
Richard and Vicky are a husband and wife team, who setup their business in 2020 and have gained a loyal customer base and received glowing five star reviews.
Vicky said she was ‘gutted’ when she received the ‘requires improvement’ rating but was overwhelmed by the generosity of the community – particularly when Oliver and Jenna offered to help improving the score.
She said: “Oliver Facebooked me telling me how much they enjoyed their scans with us and thought we were absolutely amazing, so they wanted to help us.
“So they’re going to do an online booking system, I didn’t want to lose any of the personality of the business as well by doing it online, but he’s going to help with that too.
“Hopefully we can open a second shop and it will all work out. But the support from customers has been fantastic and it’s been such an emotional time. And with the community and businesses coming together to help out – it’s just a really positive thing.”
