A Lancashire shop owner is set to marry a complete stranger in a brand new series of reality dating show Married at First Sight.
Jenna Robinson, from Blackpool, will take part in the E4 series which is set to hit our screens on Monday, August 29.
The 32-year-old is one of 16 singletons on the show and said she never envisaged herself getting married.
Jenna, who owns Un-Do eco shop in Norbreck Road, hated the traditional concept of marriage, as it did not sit right with her that traditionally the woman would take the man’s surname.
On the show she wants to find love, commit to someone and build a long life together.
Speaking about the announcement Jenna said: “The secret is finally out...I said ‘I do’ to a total stranger.
“Now you all know that my 'wild adventure' was actually a quest to find love.
“If you want to know the outcome you’ll have to tune in to E4 at 9pm starting August 29.”
Hit series Married at First Sight asks if science can help to create a successful relationship and if the act of marriage helps create a psychological bond that leads to true and enduring love.
Following a record-breaking run last Autumn, the show is heading back down the aisle for a new series, again following a fresh batch of singles, whose search for love and a happy-ever-after will lead them to saying “I do” to a complete stranger, who they’ll meet for the first time on their wedding day.
Returning to bring their expertise to the matching process will be Mel Schilling, Paul C. Brunson and Charlene Douglas.
In the 2021 series, the expert panel had an impressive success rate with two couples still together and one of those couples with a baby on the way.
Married At First Sight starts on E4 on August 29 at 9pm.
