A 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap, false imprisonment and attempted rape.

Officers investigating an incident in the Denton Holme area of Carlisle made the arrest on Monday evening.

The man, who is from the Blackburn area, is currently in police custody.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for anyone who may have information about the incident – which occurred in a field near to the bay in Denton Holme - to come forward.
