A five-month-old baby has died in hospital after he was found unresponsive.
The police were called by paramedics to an address on Garsdale Road in Ribbleton at shortly after 12pm on Wednesday (August 3) following reports that a baby had been found unresponsive.
The infant was rushed to the Royal Preston Hospital where he was later tragically pronounced dead.
The death is being treated as unexplained and police enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesman said: “We were called by the North West Ambulance Service to an address on Garsdale Road, Ribbleton, Preston, at 12.18pm on Wednesday, August 3, following reports that a five-month-old baby boy had been found unresponsive.
“The baby was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital where sadly he died later in the day.
“Our thoughts are with his family at this very difficult time.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
