A driver has been reported after they were seen driving along the motorway towing an unsafe load.

Officers working on the M65 on Wednesday saw the pick-up truck towing a 4X4 close to Darwen.

Apparently when asked why the vehicle hadn’t been secure properly, the driver ‘didn’t see anything wrong’ as the handbrake of the vehicle being towed was applied.

A police spokesman said: “This load was seen being towed along M65 at Darwen.

"The driver didn’t see anything wrong with having only two straps because the handbrake was on.

“Driver reported and faces three points and a £100 fine. Load secured before being allowed to continue.”
