A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious head injuries after being hit by a car.
Police are now appealing for information following the crash, which happened in Kirkham on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred at around 9am on Blackpool Road, when a Citroen DS3 hit with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – a man aged in his 20s and from Blackpool - was taken to hospital, where he remains with a significant head injury.
The driver of the car – a woman aged in her 30s – was uninjured.
Police would like to speak to anybody who saw the crash, saw the car or the pedestrian in the moments before it happened, or who has dashcam or CCTV footage of the incident.
Sgt Michael Higginson, of the Lancashire Police TacOps team, said: “This collision happened on a main road at a busy time of day so we believe there will be people who saw what happened or who caught the incident on camera.
“We are working hard to piece together what occurred and would ask anybody with information to get in touch with us.
“In the meantime, we send our best wishes to the man in hospital and wish him a speedy recovery.”
Anybody with information should get in touch on 101, quoting log 275 of July 27.
