The owner of an East Lancashire hair and beauty salon says she is “delighted” after scooping an impressive seven awards at the British Hair and Beauty Awards 2022.
Natalie Smith, owner of Serenity in Preston Old Road, Feniscowles, said she was “overwhelmed” after getting a bronze or silver medal in every category at the awards and being named among the best in the North West.
Natalie, 37, said: “I was so surprised to get a medal in every category for the North West.
“It was overwhelming and I was just so shocked and surprised.”
Natalie received a silver award for beauty therapist of the year and entrepreneur of the year.
Her salon scooped bronze for best work place environment, top rated salon of the year, excellence in customer service, lifetime achievement award and hair and beauty salon of the year.
The winners were judged on several categories including Google reviews and secret shopper experiences.
Natalie, who has worked in the industry for 21 years, said the recognition means a lot after pressures from the pandemic and life as a single mum.
She said: “I put everything into building my business up – and it has been really tough.
“I am a single parent and have raised my daughter on my own and the pandemic was just awful.
“Awards and recognition like this show that the hard work is finally paying off.”
According to Natalie, their “outstanding customer service” and hardworking nature sets the business apart from others in the region.
She said: “We provide outstanding customer service. We pretty much work seven days a week, even if that means booking appointments on our phones.
“We all love our jobs and have a passion for the industry.
“We are so grateful to anyone who comes through the door.
“As long as everyone is getting five star service and treatment, which according to Facebook and Google reviews they are, we are happy.”
On August 6, Natalie is hosting a belated launch party and 16th anniversary for the salon and customers new and old are invited.
Visitors can look forward to raffles, prosecco, cupcakes and discounts on treatment.
Natalie said: “It’s basically a toast to our regular clients for staying so loyal... it's also an invitation to new clients as well.”
