Remix albums: giving the fans what they want, or a stop-gap until the band can get some new material together?
Lo-fi indie quintet Love Is All released their début, Nine Times That Same Song, in 2006.
And with the likes of Hot Chip and The Bees on remix duties here, this is certainly no filler.
Even better, all of the remixes add something to the song whilst keeping one eye on the original.
The frantic frYars cut of Felt Tip eschews the slightly sombre original for a glitchy, loopy snyth backdrop, while Metronomy replace the multi-instrumental aural assault of Spinning & Scratching with a minimal 80s rap aesthetic.
Best of all is Maps' elated house mix Turn The Radio off, which transforms the downtrodden lyric, "And I turn the radio off, Hey world, I've had enough," into the core of the a glorious floor-filler.
