A Rossendale youth has been put on a curfew and slapped with an 18 month Knife Crime Prevention Order after admitting an offence of robbery.
The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to his age, admitted robbing a man for his £1,200 iPhone on a bus in Dagenham, London, on October 18.
He had previously been convicted for carrying a large machete in Dagenham on Halloween 2021 – October 31.
Appearing before East London Youth Court on June 15, he was made subject to a youth rehabilitation order, requiring him to take part in rehabilitation activities for 30 days and subjecting him to an 8.30pm to 7am curfew for three months.
He was also made subject to a Knife Crime Prevention Order for 18 months, banning him from contacting five other youths and from entering certain streets in Barking, London.
He was also re-sentenced for a previous offence of having a large machete on his person without reasonable excuse.
The youth was also handed a £22 victim surcharge which will be paid by his parent/guardian.
