An eclectic two-day festival bringing together music, multi-arts, food and wellness has been cancelled.
Set in the grounds of Gisburne Park, Gatherings Festival was due to take place over the weekend of August 20 and 21, but was pulled at the end of June.
Citing spiralling costs of living and not wanting to compromise the vision of the festival, organisers decided to cancel this year's event and postpone it until 2023.
A spokesperson for Gatherings said: "With the rising costs of living the festival quickly realised they could not deliver the whole experience they wanted to and they didn't want to compromise their vision."
On Monday, tickets for the event were still being sold on website Festiticket, ranging from £166.95 for general admission to £240.95 for special package deals.
However, promoters for the festival say the organisers are looking into this and hope to have all ticket sales suspended by the end of the week.
It is believed that anyone who has already purchased tickets will be refunded or given the option to roll their tickets over to next year, although this has yet to be confirmed by the organisers, who have been contacted for additional comment.
Three-day live music festival Leighton Live, cancelled due to 'spiralling costs'
Gatherings at Gisburne was being organised by the same people who brought the successful 2021 summer pop-up events to the historic Lancashire Estate, and was set to feature a line-up including Roger Sanchez, Ibibio Sound Machine, Children of Zeus, Crazy P, House Gospel Choir, Craig Charles, wellness guru Davinia Taylor and goat yoga.
There was also supposed to be food from award-winning local chef Steven Smith, plus a VIP pool party, a village green with immersive theatre games, a poetry lounge, and for those looking for something more rejuvinating, ice bathing, IV drips and more.
At the time of tickets being released, owner of the estate, Guy Hindley said: “We are excited to bring Gatherings to all.
"On the success of our pop-ups last year, we wanted to create an annual music and cultural led boutique festival in the North, on this historic estate that I grew up on.
"Gatherings is that – it’s the coming together of various tribes, creating a cultural melting pot - music, multi arts, immersive theatre, wellness experiences, pop up restaurants, glamping, and much more will all be happening throughout the weekend.
"And we have more plans to develop this beautiful estate’s Grade I listed mansion and to create a series of smaller events throughout the seasons."
Great Harwood's Festival cancelled due to 'elements outside organiser's control'
In May, organisers of Lancaster's Highest Point festival cancelled their new sister event, Leighton Live, which was due to take place in the historic grounds of Carnforth's Leighton Hall over the Jubilee weekend.
They too cited spiralling costs as the reason behind their decision to pull the event.
And just last month, Festiva, a new family festival which was due to take place in Great Harwood on August 13 and 14 was also cancelled, with organisers postponing the show until August 2023.
A spokesperson for Festiva said: "Many months of planning have gone into the festival by a huge team of people across the Festiva team, its partners, suppliers, and the local Hyndburn council.
"With certain elements outside our control one of those is an acceptable entry and access to the Showground.
"We have been unable to secure a satisfactory entrance and exit that is suitable and therefore causes issues with gaining the relevant permissions required to hold the event in a safe and considered manner to the surrounding area.
"Given the short amount of time prior to August 13, 2022, it leaves us no time to apply for any other possible solutions.
"We do believe given time there are options to be secured via planning and other landowners but given the date of the festival it will now not be viable for this year.
"Unfortunately, this means we are going to have to pull the event for August 2022, and we will be rolling it over to 2023.
"All customers who have purchased are being refunded in full, and no monies are being retained by Festiva or Skiddle.
"We would like to pay particular thanks to Hyndburn Council who have been exceptional in moving this forward, the issues are not related to anything in their control.
"We will maintain and build upon this year’s line-up, with a view to creating something even more spectacular than what was planned for 2022."
