A former X Factor star from East Lancashire has released a song today that she impressed judges with on the ITV talent show.
Grace Davies, from Langho, has released her original pop anthem ‘Wolves’, which is described as a “rip-roaring power-punch to the past and a life-affirming ode to owning your mistakes”.
Co-produced with Toby Scott, who was worked with Becky Hill and Galantis, Grace continues to take the reins as a fully independent artist, showcasing a rawness like never before while maintaining her flair for pop songwriting.

Speaking about the track, Grace says: “This is about owning your mistakes and using them as ammunition to power through life.
“It’s a power anthem about recovering after [everything has been] thrown at you and believing that if you can get through that then you’re invincible and can get through anything.
“Having lived with this song for five years, I was excited to get stuck into the production as I’d always had a strong vision for the track.”
With the help of David Sneddon and Anu Pillai, Grace wrote ‘Wolves’ back in the summer of 2017 and it secured her a place in the X Factor final.
Grace, who was runner-up on the fourteenth series, was praised by the judges after performing it live and even received a standing ovation.
Speaking about the track at the time, Simon Cowell said: “I will tell you how good I thought that was – it was like listening to somebody who comes on the show as a returning artist with a hit record.
“It wasn’t something I normally hear on a show like this.
“What you guys are doing with your originality and new material, you’re coming every week with hit records – this doesn’t happen.
“That was a great performance – loved the song.”
The track has been a fan-favourite ever since and now Grace can release the song independently, after being previously signed to now-defunct label Syco (Sony Music).
The release of the track follows last year’s long-awaited second EP ‘i wonder if you wonder’, a personal collection of tracks which marked Grace’s progress since embracing the journey into releasing independently.
Standout release ‘roots’, which reached an the Top 3 in the UK iTunes Single Charts, entering the Official Chart Company Top 100 and the UK Big Top 40.
The EP saw Grace reach one million monthly listeners on Spotify.
