Police want to speak to three men in relation to a serious assault which occurred outside a pub in Blackburn.

Lancashire Constabulary were called to Market Street Lane at 4.19pm on April 24 to reports of a fight outside the Dun Horse pub, and that a man had been knocked unconscious.

The victim – a man in his 30s - was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries. He has since been discharged.

Officers have carried out a number of enquiries to identify those involved in the assault, however no arrests have been made at this stage.

Police have now released CCTV still images of three men they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.

A spokesperson for the police said: "We now need to speak to the men in the CCTV stills as part of our ongoing investigation."

They are described as the following:

Male 1 - white, heavy build, dark hair and dark beard, wearing a grey hooded top and black trousers.

Male 2 - white, heavy build, light brown hair, wearing a red polo shirt and blue jeans.

Male 3 - white, large build, short ginger hair, wearing a dark Adidas tracksuit.

DC Paul Haworth, of East CID, said: “This completely unacceptable behaviour left a man with some very serious injuries.

“We have made numerous enquiries to identify the individuals involved and we now need to speak to the men in the CCTV stills.

"We know they are of quite poor quality but we hope that people maybe able to recognise the men by their features or clothing.

“I would ask anybody with information on their identities to contact the police as soon as possible.

"I would also ask the men in the stills – if they see this appeal - to attend their nearest police station.”

Anyone with information is asked to email 3342@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 1082 of April 24.
