A man and a teenager have been arrested following an attempted theft from a construction site in Lower Darwen.
Police said they were called to a site on Greenbank Terrace at 10pm on Monday, June 13, after reports of suspicious activity.
Blackburn and Darwen Police said: "When officers arrived, they found a flatbed pickup truck with false number plates abandoned at the site.
"During enquiries, officers received a report of two men acting suspiciously on Albert Place and when they arrived, two men were trying to leave the area in a taxi.
"One of the occupants has tried to run off but has been pursued, and a man has been detained.
"During a search, officers found a wrench, drill bits, gloves and keys. Another man was also detained and officers found three number plates and an angle grinder inside the taxi."
Two men, aged 18 and 32, who are both from Blackburn, have been arrested on suspicion of going equipped for theft and have been questioned in connection with a number of offences.
Both have been released under investigation.
