A new cake shop has opened in Lancashire with cookie pies and occasion cakes on the menu.
Bakes By Hope, on Station Road in Bamber Bridge, opened last month and has since seen a steady influx of customers, eager to sample the sweet treats.
Hope Campbell, 21, is the shop owner and runs the business as a “one woman band”.
She said: “I have always baked from a young age. I would always get dropped at my grandma’s house and we would spend the day baking."
Hope started selling cakes for family and friends before official online trading started in 2020 during lockdown.
Her aesthetically pleasing cakes have earned her over 1,800 Instagram followers and counting.
Since opening on May 14, Hope said she has received a steady stream of customers who have praised the quality of her bakes.
She said: “It’s been really good. I thought the hype might have died down but it has kept up and people keep coming back so I must be doing something right.
“I have had a couple of people come in and say they can taste the quality. I don’t skimp on my ingredients and use the best ingredients I can buy.
“I also serve quite big portions, which people have commented on.”
Brownies, cookie pies, personalised cupcakes, flavoured millionaires slices and bespoke occasion cakes are just some of the bakes you will find at the shop.
Hope’s personal favourite is her signature chocolate cake.
“I do think my chocolate cake is also up there,” she said. “It’s one of my favourite things to make because it tastes so moist.”
Hope’s menu is always changing and new bakes will be available according to each occasion and season.
She said: “We have many exciting occasions coming up, such as Wimbledon and Father’s Day, and I am hoping to add some new additions to the counter.”
Hope is looking forward to the future of her business and says she owes part of her success to her supportive family.
“I couldn’t have opened this shop without my family, especially my dad who is my number one supporter.
“I am a one woman band and bake everything, but I have a lot of support from friends and family.”
