Give us some history about the pub
The White Horse Edgworth has been a major focal point of the the village for years. Situated prominently at the Bolton-Bury crossroads in good walking country, this fine local is a large stone built corner building with an impressively decorated interior. The name - White Horse has heraldic origins dating back to the 18th Century, with white being the colour of peace and horse representing steadiness.
Is food served? Is so what’s on the menu?
The menu includes British pub classics using locally sourced, fresh ingredients. At weekends there is an impressive brunch menu and Sunday lunch on offer, alongside staple starters such as pan fried black pudding, Lancashire cheese, crispy leeks and wholegrain mustard sauce, pan fried mushrooms with shallots, poached egg, truffle oil and grilled sourdough. Have you faced any challenges within the industry
Before re-opening the White Horse had been closed since early 2019. Relaunching whilst also emerging from the pandemic amid the rising cost of living has been challenging, however we have focused on quality, value for money and creating an inviting pub atmosphere for families, cyclists and dog walkers wanting teas, coffees and lunch during the day, and for residents wanting somewhere to socialise and eat in the evening.
The best thing about running a pub is
Creating a pub community where people can make socialise with friends and family making memories.
