A WOMAN from Blackburn has been fined after being caught speeding on a motorway in Lancashire earlier this year.

Remilekun Oladipo, of Bishopstone Close, Blackburn, was not present in court when her speeding offence was found proven on Tuesday, May 24.

Oladipo, 45, was driving her Nissan Qashqai southbound on the M6, between Junctions 26 and 24 near Wigan, on January 8, when she was caught speeding by a speed camera.

She was driving her vehicle at 60 miles per hour while a temporary 50mph speed limit was in force on the stretch of highway.

During a hearing at Tameside Magistrates’ Court, the speeding offence was found proven in a single justice procedure, and Oladipo was fined £220 and had her driving record endorsed with three penalty points.

She was also ordered to pay costs of £90 and a surcharge to fund victim services of £34, for a total amount of £344, which must be paid by June 21.
