A SINGING schoolboy is set to wow judges as he as takes to the stage in a televised talent competition.
Cormac Thompson, 12, from Darwen, released his debut album in 2021 and has become a well-known figure in the area having sung in a number of recitals at Blackburn Cathedral.
And tonight, the local sensation will appear on our screens where he is expected to wow judges Amanda Holden, Aleesha Dixon, Simon Cowell and David Walliams on Britain’s Got Talent.
A post on Blackburn with Darwen’s Council page issues a message of support for the young singer, who is to perform a rendition of Snow Patrol’s run in a bid to get four yes votes from the judges.
Their post reads: “Look what we’ve just spotted - Darwen’s singing sensation Cormac Thompson is set to be on Britain's Got Talent tomorrow! [Tonight, Saturday].
“Be sure to tune in from 8pm to watch him blow the judges away with his ‘heavenly rendition’ of Snow Patrol’s ‘Run’… Good-luck Cormac, we are all super proud of you!”
During a preview clip of Cormac singing, Ant McPartlin, co-presenter of the show can be seen turning to the camera and saying: “That’s lovely, isn’t it.’
Cormac manages a pitch-perfect rendition of the song before the clip cuts off – leaving viewers in suspense over what the judges will say about his performance.
To find out more tune into ITV1 tonight.
