THREE new homes can be built at a remote farm councillors have decided.

This is despite a neighbour pleading with them to reject the scheme for the four-bedroomed two-storey detached houses.

Mr and Mrs T Spooner can demolish a set of equestrian buildings at Jennet House Farm in Radfield Road, Darwen.

This will cut the current 22 stables to just 10.

The project was approved by Blackburn with Darwen Council’s planning committee at its meeting last week.

Nicholas Crichton addressed the councillors about the poor condition of the access track, his fear increased traffic could harmthe safety of walkers, vehicles, dogs and horses and the impact of the proposal on his home in nearby Radfield Head.

The application for the scheme was approved with conditions.
