A RIBBLE VALLEY actor will be getting us into the festive spirit later this year when he joins a star-studded cast in a new Christmas movie.

Lucien Laviscount, from Read, will star in Your Christmas or Mine?, which is an Amazon Prime Video movie that will premiere in 240 territories worldwide in December.

He will be appearing alongside Asa Butterfield, leading actor in the hit Netflix comedy series Sex Education, in the festive film.

The movie, made for Amazon Prime Video by Shiny Button, part of Banijay UK, follows young couple James (Asa Butterfield) and Hayley (Cora Kirk), who, after a disastrous mix-up, end up having to experience each other’s family Christmas without their partners.

The film's blurb reads: "When the entire country is blanketed in the biggest snowfall on record, our star-crossed lovers are trapped at the most manic time of the year.

"Christmas traditions are turned on their head, secrets are revealed, and family truths are told with hilarious consequences.

"The couple realise that there is an awful lot they don’t know about each other. Will they be able to swap back in time for Christmas Day?"

Jim O'Hanlon is directing the film; he's previously worked on the likes of Marcella, Inside No.9, Catastrophe and The Punisher.

He said: “It’s a testimony to the warmth, humour, and emotional honesty of Tom Parry’s brilliant script for Your Christmas or Mine? that we’ve managed to attract such an amazing cast and crew to the project.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to be directing it—even if it means spending my summer mired in snow and black ice rather than on the beach.”

Your Christmas or Mine? is being made by Shiny Button (part of Banijay UK). The executive producers are Andy Brereton, Kris Thykier, Jim O’Hanlon and Tom Parry and the producer is Kate Heggie.

Plenty of other widely recognised actors will join Lucien, Asa and Cora in the production, including: Alex Jennings (The Crown), Harriet Walter (Killing Eve), Daniel Mays (Fisherman’s Friends), David Bradley (the Harry Potter series), Angela Griffin (White Lines), Natalie Gumede (Titans),  and Ram John Holder (Desmond’s).
