POLICE in Burnley and Padiham have urged owners of Ford vehicles to be vigilant after a spate of car radio thefts.
Police said thefts of factory-fitted car stereos, particularly in Duke Bar and Gannow, could be down to thieves believing a chip in the radios can be used to access free Sky digital channels.
In the latest incidents, thieves stole stereos from a Ford Ka in Wilton Street and from another in Browhead Court, Shackleton Street, overnight on Wednesday.
Ford say claims about the chip being adapted to a digibox or Sky satellite receiver to access free digital channels, are false.
