THE National Television Awards (NTA) long list has been announced and plenty of Lancashire celebs and locally-filmed TV shows have featured this year.
Lee Mack and Freddie Flintoff are among the some celebs who could be representing the county at the awards if they make the final shortlist of nominees.
Hit TV shows that were filmed in Lancashire, such as Peaky Blinders, are also in the running for an NTA trophy.
The final shortlist will be revealed in August ahead of the official ceremony at Wembley Arena on Thursday, September 15, which ITV will broadcast.
Blackburn comedian, Lee Mack, has been nominated for best TV presenter while ITV’s The 1% Club, which he hosts, is up for best quiz game show.
BBC’s Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, which Lee hosts alongside Holly Willoughby, has been nominated for The Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award.
Lee’s long-running sitcom ‘Not Going Out’ has also been nominated for best comedy show.
Preston-born Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff is also in the running for some awards.
Freddie will be up against Lee for best TV presenter while Top Gear, which Flintoff co-presents, is up for a factual entertainment award.
Channel 4 hit show, Gogglebox, is also nominated for best factual entertainment show.
Fan favourites, Pete and Sophie Sandiford, star in the show and both hail from Blackpool.
Nelson’s John Simm is nominated for best drama performance for his role as DS Roy Grace in ITV crime drama ‘Grace’.
The show, which is based on the best-selling books by Peter James, is also in the running for a best returning drama award.
However, it will face stiff competition in the category as it is up against Peaky Blinders which was filmed across parts of Lancashire.
Cast and crew descended on East Lancashire last April as they filmed some of their scenes for the final series.
Pictures emerged of a gypsy camp and graveyard which were set up at Lee Quarry in Bacup.
Cast and crew also returned for one day only at the end of April and filmed scenes at Beacon Fell in the Forest of Bowland.
ITV’s The Bay, a crime drama which is filmed and set in Morecambe, returned for its third season earlier this year.
It is also now nominated for a best returning drama award.
Sky comedy/drama, Brassic, is nominated for best comedy.
Brassic was partially filmed in East Lancashire, with Blackburn, Burnley and Bacup acting as the backdrop for many scenes across the three seasons.

Also nominated for best comedy is Meet The Richardsons, starring Lancaster comedian Jon Richardson.
Nelson-born producer, Jed Mercurio, might also come home with an NTA trophy as his hit ITV show, Trigger Point, is nominated for best new drama.
Win or lose, it will return for a second series in 2023 – and the Nelson-born producer says he is “thrilled” to begin planning it.
Vicky McClure will reprise her role as bomb disposal operative ‘Expo’ Lana Washington, for the Metropolitan Police Bomb Disposal Squad in the new six part series.
Netflix show, Stay Close, is also nominated in the same category.
Stay Close is an eight-part drama based on the TV adaptation of Harlan Coben’s best-selling mystery novel of the same name.
Eagle-eyed fans spotted the show’s film crews as they descended on Morecambe and Blackpool to film.
They even used the ice cream van of a Fleetwood-based company, Niceone Ices, for one of the scenes.
BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and The Apprentice are also in the running for an NTA – and the latest series of each show featured a Lancashire local.
Blackburn TV presenter AJ Odudu was a finalist in Strictly, while Chorley’s Aaron Willis made it to week 10 of The Apprentice before being fired by Lord Sugar.
