CORONATION STREET’s Sam Aston and his wife, Briony, have welcomed their second child to the world.
The couple, who live in Rossendale, made the announcement to OK! Magazine before posting it to their social media channels.
Sam is best known for his role as Chesney in Coronation Street, while Briony owns Happy Baby Studio in Crawshawbooth.
She posted a sweet snap of their newborn daughter who is wearing a onesie which reads "little sister".
The picture is captioned: “Our beautiful girl has arrived.”
Hundreds of fans and followers have since commented on the post.
One person said: “Aww congratulations to you both! I hope you’re all doing well. Lots of love.”
“Welcome to the world little princess,” said another.
A third commented: “Congratulations to you all, doll. Hope you are all well. Sending lots of love.”
“I’ve kept checking to see,” said another follower. “Congratulations gorgeous mama, Sam and Sonny.”
The new arrival is the couple’s second child and first daughter after giving birth to Sonny in August 2020.
Sam and Briony announced they were pregnant with their daughter last October.
In the adorable announcement snap, Sonny is surrounded by pumpkins with a sign which reads: “We’re adding another pumpkin to our patch. Due spring 2022.”
Speaking to OK! the couple said they didn’t intend to get pregnant for second time so quickly.
Briony said: “We were actually trying not to get pregnant!
“Just because Sonny was so premature – my concern was having two too close together and having another premature baby. But it just happened!
“Like with Sonny, I just knew I was pregnant – something was a little bit off and I didn’t feel well. I took a test and obviously it was positive. It was a bit of a shock for Sam!"
Sam, who plays Chesney Brown on the ITV soap, said: “It sounds like I wasn’t pleased but I really was.
"It’s just that with Sonny it was as planned as it could be, whereas this happened out of the blue.”
