FUNDRAISING efforts over the last year have netted the Pendleside Hospice £94,000.
The hospice's Light up a Life' appeal, held in the run-up to Christmas, allowed people to remember their loved ones by dedicating a coloured light bulb to their memory.
Lights, first lit at special services held the weekend before Christmas, were strung around the hospice grounds and buildings. The lights were then lit up throughout the festive period until the first week in January.
The appeal is the hospice's biggest annual fundraising campaign, having raised almost half-a-million pounds since its inception in 1998.
The money raised from the campaign each year helps the hospice provide care to local people suffering from cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
The hospice offers short-term in-patient stays for symptom control, rehabilitation, and respite care for patients with cancer, or other life-limiting illnesses.
