Two men have been handed combined prison sentences of more than seven years after being convicted of a spate of burglaries.
The incidents took place in St Annes in August and September last year and enquiries by Blackpool police led officers to arrest several people, and stolen property, including jewellery, recovered and returned to the victims.
The men were charged and appeared at Preston Crown Court on Monday April 25.
Craig Jenkins, 29, of no fixed address, was convicted of seven burglaries and one attempted burglary. He was sentenced to four years and six months in prison after pleading guilty. A further four residential burglaries were taken into consideration by the court.
Kieron Kenworthy, 27, of no fixed address, was convicted of one residential burglary and sentenced to three years four months in prison after pleading guilty. Six residential burglary offences were taken into consideration by the court.
Det Sgt Stuart Reid, of Blackpool Police’s Targeted Crime Team, said: “We know the huge impact burglary and other acquisitive crimes can have on our communities and we will do everything we can to stop and target those involved.
“Jenkins and Kenworthy committed brazen offending, with a number of addresses raided, leaving victims devastated.
“I hope theses sentencings show anyone looking to commit such crimes will expect a robust response to keep our county safe.”
A third man, Dylan Walmsley, 29, of Cross Street, St Annes, was convicted of handling stolen goods and was sentenced to a 12 month community order, fined £445 and ordered to conduct unpaid work at Blackpool Magistrates' Court in February.
