A MAN has been ordered to pay almost £1,000 after he refused to give a roadside breath test.
Officers working out of Elland Road Police Station in Leeds had brought Gareth Hulme in having suspected he’d been drinking before driving.
However once inside the police station the 37-year-old refused to give a breath sample – something he will now pay handsomely for.
Hulme, of Kirkhill Avenue, appeared at Leeds Magistrates Court where he admitted the offence.
He was fined £800, ordered to contribute £80 towards funding victim services and has to pay £85 towards the costs of the case.
He has also been disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months, and obligatory penalty for the offence of refusing to provide a specimen.
