KATIE Kenyon’s distraught family have said that they are "breaking" as the search for the missing woman moves into a new day.

Katie, 33, was reported missing after she was last seen on Friday morning heading towards a local beauty spot in a silver Ford Transit van with a man.

It is believed that the pair left a house in Todmorden Road, Burnley, before travelling to the Bolton-by-Bowland area.

Katie’s family reported her missing after the "out of character" disappearance and have been frantically "searching everywhere" for her since.

Katie's sister Sarah Kenyon posted on Facebook: "Please can we ask everyone to be very patient.

"It is now a waiting game, we have done everything we can, searched everywhere, contacted everyone.

"This is breaking us all and we are all so greatly appreciative of everyone’s help."

Friends and family are also urging people not to conduct searches in the area, asking that the police and emergency services are left to carry out their work.

Detectives have since appealed for information about a silver Ford Transit van with the registration MT57 FLC.

People who were in the area over the weekend are now being urged to check dash cam and CCTV footage in a bid to help with the appeal.

Katie is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall, with strawberry blonde/ginger highlighted hair.

She was wearing a blue shirt/jacket and white vest top, black leggings and flip flops when she was last seen.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "Our enquiries so far suggest that at about 9.30am on Friday, April 22, a woman matching Katie’s description left an address on Todmorden Road, Burnley with a man and travelled in a silver Ford Transit registration MT57 FLC to the Bolton by Bowland area.

"She has not been seen since and we are appealing to anyone who was in that area and may have seen Katie, either in company or on her own, or who saw or has dash cam footage of a van matching the description to come forward and contact us."

Det Chief Insp Al Davies, of the Force Major Investigation Team, said: “Katie’s disappearance is out of character and her family are understandably very worried.

“We are doing all we can to try and find her and I would appeal to anyone who has any information, however insignificant you may think it is, to come forward and contact us.

“I would especially like to hear from anyone who was in Bolton by Bowland or the surrounding area and saw anything suspicious to get in touch.

"Did you see a woman matching Katie’s description, either alone or with a man? Did you see the silver transit van or might you have dashcam footage which shows it.

“While we have arrested someone in connection with our investigation, I am very much keeping an open mind as to what has happened and I have a team of officers and staff working hard to try and find Katie and return her to her family.

"You could help with that so please do come forward and speak to us as your information could prove crucial.”
