A BANNED driver caught behind the wheel led police a dance when he was arrested, Burnley magistrates heard.
The court was told sales manager, Mark John Tull, 28, gave false details and it took half an hour to establish who he was. Tull had been 13 days from the end of the 16-month ban imposed for drink driving.
The defendant, of Newton Street, Burnley, admitted driving while disqualified and without insurance and obstructing police.
He was given a community order with 80 hours unpaid work.
Sue Campbell, prosecuting, told the court Tull had given police a false name and an address he had not lived at for 18 months. He had been banned in October 2006.
John Nuttall, defending, said Tull's partner, who was insured to drive, did not want to take the vehicle to the car wash and he stupidly decided to drive it there.
