A NEW neighbourhood walks scheme has been set up so residents can let a social landlord know of any problems in the area.
Hyndburn Homes, which took control of the borough's council house stock in 2006, is to hold regular walkabouts through communities.
It is hoped that the walks can enable tenants to highlight any problems.
Nigel Fenton, from Hyndburn Homes, said: "Some residents feel very frustrated about anti-social behaviour in the areas in which they live "Everybody would like to live in communities that are not spoiled by graffiti, litter, abandoned cars or neglected houses and we hope the walks will not only highlight specific problems areas but also look at ways of cleaning up the problem and preventing it from happening again."
Representatives from the local council, the police, youth agencies and other groups will also be invited.
Mr Fenton added: "It's important to remember that even in an area where the homes are predominantly Hyndburn Homes properties, there could be issues that are nothing to do with our residents.
"Some neglected homes belong to private landlords and so it may be up to the local council to tackle them."
More information about the walks will be announced in the coming weeks.
